The easter bunny visited our house for Easter. He is pretty sneaky and always hides the girl's baskets.
They are pretty good at sniffing out that candy and always find their baskets.
They got lots of fun things in their baskets this year.

Building towers with Dad...
The girls love building block towers with dad. They always come up with a new and impressive design.
We have even had one all the way up to the ceiling.

K's friend party
April 15, 2011 My girls get a friend party when they turn 6 and then every other year after that. This was K's first friend birthday party. She wanted to have a mermaid birthday. So we decorated the family room to look like the ocean with fish balloons.
We played a game where the girls had to see how many fish balloons they could catch in 30 seconds.
It was fun watching them try to hold on to as many balloons as they could. No one caught more than 4. Those fish were sure slippery. We also played a game of fish with a fishing pole. The fish they caught had different things they had to do on them like: jump like a bunny, lick your elbow, bark like a dog. Then the girls watched a Little Mermaid movie and then we opened presents.
K was so excited for all the fun gifts she got from her friends.
K is always so funny!
We also gave all the girls little flower lei's. I was going to make them all mermaid tail skirts, but only got K's done.
I made some cupcakes with swedish fish on them for treats.
We sent the girls home with a goodie bag filled with bubbles, stickers, seashells, a little mermaid doll and swedish fish. I think she had a fun party!

There's something new in the neighborhood...
They started building 3 houses right by ours. All of the sudden our yard feels very very tiny! I love watching new houses being build (but it makes me want to build my own!). It is amazing how fast a few guys can frame up a house. It is fun to walk through them and see the different floor plans and designs.
The kids (dad included!) love playing on the big piles of dirt.
It looks like we will have new neighbors soon.

K turns 6!
April 11, 2011 K turned 6! We had a birthday party for my dad the day before her birthday and my parents brought her birthday presents that day.
She has gotten so big! I just can't believe it. She is such a fun sweet little girl. She is so smart and always thinking about something. You can almost see those wheels turning in her head. She says the funniest things. She always makes us laugh. She is also so sweet. She loves little kids and is really good with the handicap kids in her school class.
She wanted a mermaid birthday this year, so I made a fun mermaid cake for her special day. I love getting creative in the kitchen and making fun birthday cakes.
She got to go to school on her birthday, and she got a birthday crown from her teacher. I sent her with Sixlets treats for her class. The tag said K's SIX-LET'S celebrate!
She got this dress for her birthday.
She got a Zooble house and zoobles, books and a movie.
Happy Birthday K!!!

Our new camper
After many miserable nights camping on an air mattress that deflates half way through the night we decided to buy us a camp trailer. We looked around for awhile and looked at one locally, but it was molding inside and nasty. We finally found this one that just happened to be where my in-laws live.
So we sent them out to look at it for us. My mother-in-law called me while they were there and described everything for us. We decided to go ahead and buy it even though we hadn't been in it.
My in-laws were so nice and brought it to their house where it waited for us to come and get it over spring break. It is just perfect for our family. It was even pink! The girls loved all that pink, but we decided we wanted to re-cover the cushions and things (some of them were stained and gross).
So after we got it home we spent several hours washing and cleaning it out. Then I measured everthing and set to work to re-cover all the cushions inside. I found a fun "camping" fabric. It wasn't what I had in mind, but it was on clearance and a really good deal!
We got some new sleeping bags, rugs, and stocked it with all the supplies we would need for camping. It turned out so cute. We have loved having it and taking it out camping. The beds are so nice and comfy and we all get a good night's sleep. No more sleeping on the rocky ground for us!

The true test for shelves
DH built this shelf up along the ceiling in our garage. It has been a tradition that if DH builds a shelf he lays on it to see if it is strong enough to support his weight before he puts anything on it. This time the girls got to test out his engineering skills. They had fun playing up there, but they scared me! I didn't like them playing up on a shelf that far above a cement floor! Luckily, no one fell off. :)
