A and K get to share a bed when we are at Grandma and Grandpa R's house. We found them asleep one night like this. No wonder that when one person get sick in our family we all get sick. I thought this was such a sweet picture.

My santa babies....
My sister took the most adorable picture of her first little boy in a Santa hat when he was a baby. I kind of stole her idea and did the same thing with all my girls. I am so glad I did. They are one of my favorite Christmas decorations. Aren't they cute!

A little song...
My three year old was playing with our toy nativity scene yesterday, and singing this cute little song:
"I love Joseph,
I love Joseph,
I love Jesus,
I love everybody,
even the donkey."
"I love Joseph,
I love Joseph,
I love Jesus,
I love everybody,
even the donkey."

The election....to a three year old....
I was talking to my three year old this morning while I was doing her hair. I told her that we have a new President. She asked who it was. I said, "President Obama". She started laughing and said, "Your'e silly mommy." I guess Obama might sound like a funny word to a three year old.

Little Miss Funny Face....
We were recently going through some pictures and noticed that in nearly every picture K is making some sort of funny face. She definately has a LOT of personality. She is such a fun kid.
I thought I would post a few of our favorite K pictures.

Happy Birthday little K....
Today is my little K's birthday. She is 3 today. I wished her Happy Birthday this morning, and she asked me where her birthday was. I think she meant where her birthday PRESENTS were. I guess she is all about the gifts. I thought I would share some pics of her from the past year. She is such a fun little girl. She is so full of spunk and personality. Things are never dull when she is around. She is always surprising us with something new. She does a lot of stuff that her sisters never did. She comes up with the funniest ideas....she always makes us laugh. She is such a joy in our lives. Happy Birthday little K.

Oh the joys of a two year old...
The other day, I had a pile of laundry in the living room waiting to be folded. She decided to play in it. She happened to find my bra, then she proceeded to tell me how you are supposed to wear it. "Arms go here," she said, "and nikkles go here."
Last night I was in the family room feeding the baby and she came in with the wash rag and told me,
"Brown stuff on floor."
"What is it?" I asked.
"I'd know." she replied. "Poo I sink."
Then I noticed the brown stuff on the rag and on her finger. Well I shot up in a hurry and went to the kitchen. Sure enough, there was a small ball of poo on the kitchen floor. I have no idea how it got there unless it had somehow slipped out of her pants. There were no signs of streaking there though. There was a finger poke in the middle of the poo. So knowing my daughter all too well, I asked her if she tasted it.
"Yeah," she told me. "That poo discussing!!!"
Well after a good washing, teeth brushing, and some disinfecting, we had a good laugh about it all, but GROSS!!!!!

Today is the day....
The "puffy" panties are purchased, cleaned and ready to go on a small hiney...
The flip-n-flush has been purchased, and installed by my handsome hubby...
The stool is awaiting little feet ...
We have lots of toilet paper ready and waiting to be used by tiny hands...
The "pretty" panties are awaiting the day when they can replace the "puffy" panties and be worn without getting wet...
The carpet cleaner is ready to clean up accidents...
The laundry soap is ready to do all the extra laundry...

And we are hoping the toddler is more than willing to potty train today....
So you have no need to wonder what itybtyfrog will be doing this week....spending lots of time in the bathroom and doing lots of laundry. Wish me luck!

A new do....
My little K will be 3 in April. I figured it was about time for her first haircut. So yesterday I broke out the scissors and cut her hair, and just for fun, I cut A's hair
too.
Here are some pics....

My 2 year old thoughts of her new sister...
My two year old is learning a lot about babies. She has never been around one before, so she thinks that her new little sister is fascinating. She asks the funniest questions and makes hilarious comments about the baby and what the baby is doing. Here are a few of my favorites: The night we brought H home from the hospital she had a total screaming fit (thanks to the super spicy shredded pork burrito they fed me in the hospital). My little two year old, K, pats me on the belly (you know the post delivery jelly belly that looks like you didn't just have a child) , and asks me, "Other H come out?" I told her that this was the only baby in mommy's belly, and asked her why she wanted another one. She told me, "This H too noisy." That may have been so, but you take what you get. Another day she came up and asked me if H was a boy. "No, H is a girl." I told her. She then grabbed some of H's hair and said, "Boy hair." I guess that is the only way that she thinks boys and girls are different. I told her it was just baby hair and that it would get longer just like hers and then she would look more like a girl. She is also fascinated with breast feeding, but I won't share those funny comments! I think she is finally getting accustomed to her new little sister. She loves it when the baby actually has her eyes open....loves it a little too much since I have caught her poking her in the eye.
Hopefully H won't hold a grudge, and they will be good playmates someday.

You Idiot!!!
I have tried not to whine and complain on my blog too much, but today I am going to let loose, so watch out!!!
This weekend we took my 16-month old into the hospital to get her stitches out (see below post for reason). They told us to return after 5 days to get her stitches out, but we went in after 6 to give her a little more healing time. The nurse in triage took her back to remove her stitches while my husband held her. Next followed 30 minutes of screaming while the nurse tried to remove her stitches. She finally called in another nurse to help her. In the process she completely ripped open my daughters lip again. My husband said that the nurse couldn't even grab the stitches, that she kept on missing. Afterwards she tried to "glue" it shut again with this nasty brown glue (that she completely spread all over my daughter's chin) and some adhesive strips. She placed two on her lips, the first one immediately fell off and the second only stayed on long enough to get out of the parking lot. The whole time she was trying to attach these strips she was telling me that my daughter would have a scar. I was furious!!! We brought her into the hospital in the first place because we did not want her to have a big ugly scar right on her bottom lip. If I had wanted her to have a scar I would have just left her lip wide open flapping around. She also told me that since her lip was open it left it open to infection and that we needed to be careful with it. This infuriated me even more, especially since the nurse wasn't wearing any gloves the whole time she was working on my daughter. So much for worrying about infection lady! And why would they have you come into the hospital to remove stitches if that isn't enough time to heal the wound. Could they say wait for 10 days instead of 5? It would have given her a little more time to heal back up. So a week later and who knows how much money later (we are still waiting for that bill to come), our daughter is still in the same position she was last week. Lip open and ugly. And now she will have that wonderful scar afterall. I am furious and I want to cry for my poor little girl.

This was bound to happen....
I guess this was bound to happen sooner or later. I actually consider myself lucky that in the almost 6 years of raising children this has never happened before. Last night, we made our first trip to the Emergency Room with one of our children.
Our 16 month old fell off of a stool gashing a big hole in her bottom lip and extended down into the skin between her lips and her chin. She also took a nice chunk out of her gums above her top teeth. We first ran her to an insta-care facility, and they told us to take her to the local children's hospital. Well 4 hours after the accident we were finally on our way home with our little drugged-up baby. She had to have several stitches in her lip and gums. I once heard that when you have children you start wearing your heart outside of your body. That is the way my husband and I felt last night. Our hearts hurt for our poor little baby. It is so hard to see someone you love so very much, especially when they are so tiny and helpless, hurt so bad. I am glad that it wasn't more serious than it was. While the doctors were stitching up my baby I wandered the halls with my other two little girls. There were about 6 other rooms by ours, and they all had screaming children in them. It was almost completely unbearable to listen to all of their cries. I really commend those doctors who can work under those conditions everyday. It would break my heart. So today we are loving our little baby all the more and hoping she recovers quickly without a lot of scaring on her adorable little face. One plus from this experience, it has finally given us a good reason to wean her from the binky. Get better quickly my sweet baby!

My Life Monday...
I sat down at the computer tonight to have a little quiet time (2 hours of time to myself, since my whole family had already gone to bed). I was going to do Rachelle's My Life Monday entitled "In Memory of...." and post some beautiful pics of my Iris. Well, shortly after logging onto my computer I heard my baby crying. It is pretty normal for her to wake up a while after she goes to sleep. I usually just have to replace the binky and she is off to dreamland again. I went to her room to do just that, but something seemed wrong....okay, something SMELLED wrong. The poor dear had vomitted all over herself, and her bedding. Finally I am back at the computer. In the last hour we have gone through 1 bath, 1 crib sheet, 1 rubber sheet, 1 blanket, 2 sets of pajamas, 1 bath towel, 2 onesies, 1 kitchen towel, 1 changing pad cover, 1 sweatshirt (oh yah, that one was mine....call me the mommy target), 1 wash cloth, lots of wet wipes, and 3 diapers (let's just say vomitting was not her only problem!). A little too much excitement at my house! Now the adorably cute little sick one is lying in my lap sleeping... FINALLY!! My husband has also been sick today. I am hoping it will not spread to my other little girls tomorrow...if it does, My Life Monday will not be so great! I hope everyone's Memorial Day is looking better than mine!

Milestones
My baby just turned one yesterday. She reached three major milestones this week: she turned one, learned how to walk, and was weaned from breastfeeding. Isn't it strange how every new thing your child does is such an emotional experience. You are so excited for them to learn something new and to grow, but at the same time you are so very sad because you will miss them being so small. I am excited that she is one, but I am sad because she is no longer a tiny baby. I love that she is learning to walk, but I will miss her adorable hip swaying crawl. I love not being tied down to breastfeeding and finally having my body back, but I will miss that closeness and being able to sit and hold her and just adore her for those hours everyday. I will miss all these sweet memories of my little girl, but I will cherish the new things she is learning to do everyday. (Here's a picture of the birthday girl...stay tuned for adorable ducky birthday pics.)
