Disneyland Vacation Part 2

Every vacation needs a little catastrophe.  We met up with ours on the freeway by Las Vegas, Nevada.  Traffic was pretty congested and had slowed quite a bit (the police told us later that there was 2 other accidents up ahead of where we were...this caused the slow down).  We had slowed to almost a stop.  A guy in the car behind us thought the lane next to us was moving faster so he switched lanes.  Well he cut off a semi-truck was he switched lanes.  The semi-truck driver couldn't stop quick enough and hit the side of him and flipped him into the back end of our van.  Luckily, DH saw this happening in his rear view mirror and sped up to try to avoid the accident.  There wasn't enough room between us and the car in front of us to avoid the accident.  It was lucky we were able to move up enough to so it didn't do more damage to the back end of our van.  It just busted up our tail light, smashed up our bumper, and messed up our back up sensors.  We felt so grateful that it was pretty minor.
We ended up sitting on the freeway for about an hour waiting for the police to come and do their reports.  It was so hot (it was 113 when we got to California!).  It was pretty hot and miserable.  The kids were not happy because I would not let them get out of their car seats.  Cars were whipping past and flipping up accident debri at us.  The girls were pretty good sports about it.  We were grateful it happend right by Las Vegas so we could get off the freeway and find a way to fix our van.
We found an Autozone and bought some tape and new light bulbs.  Everything else would have to wait until we got home.
The girls were pretty good sports about the whole thing.  And even had fun playing on the cement posts outside the store.  After we fixed up the car we headed off to finish the drive to California.  We got there much later than we had planned, but we were glad to finally get there and that everyone was safe.  We headed over to California Adventure to get a few rides in before the parks closed.  We started out on the Grizzly  River Run.  Little H was too small to go on it, so I sat out with her.  The girls and D had fun.  Except K wasn't so excited about getting wet.

We had time to hit a few of the rides at the Pier

The girls loved the carousel the very best.  We went on the carousel A LOT!  We missed getting tickets to the Wonderful World of Color show, but we got to watch it from the opposite side of the pier.  It was pretty neat.  After the park closed we headed to Wal-Mart to try and pick up some food and then back to our hotel room to eat and sleep.   It was a long day!
