3 Months old...

My baby just turned 3 months old on the 25th. I can't believe how fast she is growing up. She is at such an adorable stage right now. She is starting to laugh and loves to smile at anyone. She is just solid. A guy at church on Sunday jokingly told me that I need to start feeding her. I always joke that I am feeding her eggnog because she has definately packed on the chubs. I just want to hold her and squeeze her. She is the perfect size. Still tiny, but doesn't seem as fragile as a newborn. She slept last night from 10:45p.m. until 6:40a.m. That is her first full night of sleep without a feeding break in the middle. I would have gotten some good rest out of it, but I kept waking up thinking that she needed to eat. She is absolutely adorable and we are just loving her like crazy.

Goodbye House...

After 8 l..o..n..g months we finally sold our house yesterday. It is funny the different emotions that you feel when you leave something that you have loved behind. I have actually not lived there for 4 months. We went back this last weekend to pack up the rest of our belongings and get everything cleaned up for the new owners. It was so sad. It was like we were leaving all over again. Everywhere I went in our house I remembered the fun times and great memories that we had made there. I just wanted to cry the whole time. I will miss our fun playroom. And hearing the kids laughing downstairs. The new owner is going to run a pre-school, and I already know she loves this room as much as I do. That makes it easier to leave behind. I will miss watching movies on the "big screen" with my hubby on Friday nights. I will miss playing in my craft room. I am sad because I never posted pictures of it here. I will miss my beautiful yard and all the tulips and daffodils that pop up in the spring time. I will miss cuddling with my hubby by our fireplace on cold winter nights. I will miss sitting in my living room on a sunny winter day. I will miss playing in the sand with my kids. I will miss having friends over to roast hotdogs and marshmellows in our firepit. I will miss all the cute changes we made to our house to make it "ours". I will just miss everything.

Once when we moved one of my friends gave me a magnet that said, "You never really leave a place you love. You take part of it with you, and leave part of yourself behind." This is so true. I am taking so many fun memories with me, and I have left a small part of myself there. (I even signed my name on the wall!)

So goodbye dear neighbors. Goodbye my dear friend across the street (I will miss you most of all). Goodbye house.

Humor at the Grocery Store....

Last night I went to the grocery store and as I was looking over the produce it sounded like a storm started outside. We are talking loud thunder and heavy rain. Do you know that Garth Brooks song that starts out with the thunder and rain and then he sings, "And the thunder rolls...and the lightening strikes." That is what it sounded like. I thought, "Great I am going to have to load all of these groceries into my truck in the pouring rain." And then it happened....

it started to rain....

inside....

on the produce!

I just about burst out laughing. The thunder and rain was just an audio tape that they play to warn you that the produce is about to be sprayed. HA HA HA HA HA!!! I guess the store manager has a sense of humor.

Challenge: What's in your purse?

We just got back from our "mini" vacation. If you can call cleaning a house and driving for 14 hours in three days a vacation. My purse always becomes the dumping ground when we are traveling. Last night I cleaned it out and this is what I found beyond the regular credit cards and such:

7 pens (I have no idea how I got that many pens in there)
empty bottle of hand sanitizer (which I filled up)
tissues
checkbook
address book
lotion
calculator
cell phone
bead
paper clip
ruler
re-tractable measuring tape
gallon size bread bag
monkey toy (that I got from my doctor for being good LOL!)
box top
flattened penny
48 cents (yes, that is ALL the money I had it my purse!)
keys
vanilla lip gloss
rubber band
2 shopping lists
envelope full of coupons
mortgage bill stub
plug in cord for my cell phone (what is that called?)
immunization schedule
5 movie ticket stubs
4 realtor business cards
3 receipts......My Wal-Mart one measured 21 1/2 inches long!

So, take this challenge and clean out your purse. Post and tell us what you find in yours.

A Mother's Prayer...

I pray You'll be my eyes
and watch her where she goes

and help her to be wise

help me to let go

every mother's prayer
every child knows

lead her to a place

guide her with Your grace

to a place where she'll be safe
I pray she finds Your light
and holds it in her heart
as darkness falls each night

we mind her where You are

every mother's prayer

every child knows

need to find a place

guide her to a place

give her faith so she'll be safe

lead her to a place

guide her with Your grace

to a place where she'll be safe.
