Seeing Spots....

We are seeing spots at our house.....LOTS of spots. My three youngest girls have the chicken pox. I haven't heard of anyone having the chicken pox for a long time. Even the doctor seemed surprised that they had them. I guess the immunization is doing a pretty good job for most kids. Mine are just unlucky I guess. My oldest doesn't have them and that is probably because she got both of her Varicella immunizations. My other three girls have only had one of the shots each. Thank heavens they had the one at least because they all have a pretty mild case. My poor three year old has them the worst. I feel bad for the poor little things. It reminds me of when I had the chicken pox when I was in 6th grade. I had them pretty bad. I remember my mom taking me to other people's houses that had them to try to get them earlier, but I never did. I still have scars from them. Luckily my girls won't have them that bad, so I am very grateful for the vaccine. Check your child's immunization record and see if they have both of their Varicella shots.....it might save you from seeing spots at your house.

Saved from the brink of death...

Have you been missing me?

Our computer decided it hated us, or at least that is what we thought. It was freezing up and giving us the cold shoulder.

After trying a bazillion different things we finally had to take it to the PC hospital. It turns our our computer was slowly dying....burning itself out. We apparently had a dust problem (I don't know why? Maybe because we are surrounded by dirt fields....hmmm....yeah, that could be it!) So after a good cleaning and an application of some medication (aka electrical grease) we are up and running again. YEAH!!!

I had no idea (okay, maybe a little idea) that I had become so dependant on my computer. Ideas often pop into my head and I go straight to my computer to do some research for one thing or another. I wasn't able to do that and it drove me crazy. So crazy in fact, that I would call DH at work and have him look up stuff for me. I often use the computer as a place just to veg and take a breather. I missed that escape. While it was down I finally started reading Harry Potter though. It has actually been really nice to have some no-computer time. My house got cleaner, my kids had more "Mom" time, and I got to work on some projects I have been trying to get done. So I am setting a goal for the new year to computer less. I am going to blog more, but spend less time just cruising the internet looking for who knows what.

Bringing the New Year in with a BANG!!!!

New Year's Eve morning we went for a little target practice. I have not been shooting since my oldest was a baby. It was so fun!
I went with my hubby, my BIL and my FIL. (Can you tell I was wearing the wrong coat? I should have brought my camo....that is if I had any.)
My handsome hubby is the one laying on that rock.
I am a pretty good shot. See all those green ones on the target...those are mine. :)
So what did you do to bring in the New Year?
