Fully Rely On God

I love frogs. I collected frogs when I was younger, and my babies room is decorated in frogs now. I have a good friend that told me once that FROG stands for Fully Rely On God. I thought it was such a cute idea that I am trying to come up with an activity for my activity days girls based on this subject. I have cute wooden frogs that we are going to paint and write Fully Rely On God on the bottom of them as a reminder for them to put in their rooms. I have several articles and scriptures to talk about that bring this point to light, but I am at a loss for a good object lesson or activity of sorts to do along with this activity. So I am seeking advice from all of you brilliant women. Can you think of any ideas?

  1. P.S. I'll bet that you have a lot of fun frogs to decorate for this activity.

  2. We used this idea for our last sharing time in Primary.

"D" and I blindfolded a child then hid a rubber duck in the Primary Room (you could use a frog instead). A child got to play "Faith". We put a card around their neck that said faith. "Faith" got to lead the blindfolded person to the duck by only using directions like left, right, up or down.

The object lesson was that with faith, Heavenly Father can help us accomplish anything. You could compare this to fully relying on God. Just an idea! :)

  3. We had a similar activity to the one Suzanne mentioned when I was in YW that I have never forgotten.

We were at a campfire fireside and were told we were going to play a game. They had us all be blindfolded and then told to go find a few items (stuff like a twig, rock, leaf, etc.) We were told there was no talking or noise making allowed. They didn't tell us what to do after that. I remember finding my last item and realizing I was lost and had no idea how to get back. Then I heard church music softly playing. I was an idiot and didn't think to follow it, but shortly after, another blindfolded person came along and took me by the hand and helped me get back. It was all symbolic of our life on earth and our need to follow the gospel to get back, and also the idea that those who know how to get back need to go out and help those like me who couldn't seem to find their way on their own. It really made an impression on all of us.

  11. These were some ideas from Rachel:

Play leapfrog and take pictures of them while they are doing it (We did that we my YW and the pics turned out way cute) - You can talk about how you can leap higher when you have God under you as your foundation.

There is also the story of the frogs in the pot of water. Turn up the heat fast and they jump out. Turn it up slow and they die. Moral is about temptation. True frogs (that fully rely on God), jump away from temptation!

She said she has the actual story if you want it.
