Too cold to play outside...

Have you ever bundled your kids up so they could go play in the snow and they are back in the house in about 2 minutes!?! I got really tired of that, so when my oldest was 1 I started bringing the snow inside!

I use my biggest bowl, and fill it full of snow. I set it on towels or a tablecloth on my kitchen floor. Then I find cooking utensils (spoons, forks, bowls, cups, measuring spoons, etc.) for them to use in the snow. They absolutely love it!! They will play in the bowl of snow for at LEAST an hour...they never last that long outside. So if you don't feel like bundling up your kids, just bring the snow inside!

  1. That is so cute! What a great idea! It took me 30 minutes to bundle up Jaxon when we were in UT and he didn't even last that long outside. I wish I would have thought of this!

  3. LOL!!! That looks so fun and I agree about taking all that time to bundle your kids, just to have them want to come in right away. I will definitely try this! :)

  5. Great idea! My kids are back in the house in a shorter amount of time than it took me to get them ready to go out.

My only concern would be snowball fights.

  8. I've been doing that with Elsie, too. I'm just too lazy to follow her around outside, picking her up every time she trips in her boots!

  14. That is a really ingenious idea! And I am so impressed with your bean canning. I went to a class about that last year but have yet to do it. I have the pressure canner on my list of things I want like a wheat grinder, foodsaver, solar oven, and actual canning pot! Not to mention some actual space to put it all. Maybe someday I'll actually get all that stuff and use it. For now I just can in my regular big pots which works ok. My really big dream is to buy a house and plant some fruit trees and a garden and can up a storm of our own homegrown produce!
