Our big 4 year old...

Our little K turned 4 in April. This was something I had been waiting for for a lllloooonnnnggg time. She has been my only child that was a terrible two. My other girls were terrible 3 year olds. I was hopeful that when K turned 3 she would be better, well it turned out she was a terrible 3 year old too. So we were quite looking forward to 4. She has been a quite pleasant 4 year old though, so I am excited about that.

She wanted a Thumbelina birthday. I found a cute little twirler baby bracelet to go in the middle of her cake. She got some super fun presents. They must have been really fun because her sisters all wanted them.

Can you tell that she has such a fun personality full of spunk? She is such a fun kid. She is always surprising me with the things she says and does. She is so different than her sisters. It is sometimes hard to figure her out, but we love her like crazy. No one makes us laugh as hard as she does. She is such a sweet little girl.

Step aside Nancy....

My 2nd daughter just turned 6. We had a Fancy Nancy birthday party for her. Watch out Nancy, because these girls got fancy! I dressed up as their fancy teacher to teach the girls all how to be fancy. I read them the Fancy Nancy book and then taught them some fancy words. I then tested them to see how much they knew about fancy things by playing a game. I had a pillow case full of things and they each took turns pulling them out. They had to decide if the item was plain or fancy. Then I got them all dressed up. We had feather boas, tiaras, rings, sunglasses and necklaces for all the girls to get dressed up in. They looked absolutely stunning!

What kind of fancy girls would they be without purses? I found these adorable purses at Wal-Mart. They were supposed to be some sort of Valentine's Day gift card holder. They were perfect for holding a little lip gloss and all the girls accessories. They decorated them with jewels and glittery foam shapes.

The girls practiced their fancy walking while I got the dessert ready. We had parfaits....

The girls got to decorate them all up fancy with syrups, sprinkles, whipped cream, and of course, a cherry on top!

Then my little fancy girl got to open her gifts. She got some really fun things....so fun that all of her sisters want to play with them too. Apparently we need to teach our fancy girl about sharing!

While we waited for the mommies to come and get the girls I read them another Fancy Nancy book. It was a fabulous party. It just looked like I murdered a pink chicken in my house afterwards from all the feathers from those boas. Oh well, it was worth it.

Happy Birthday Hubby...

Yes, we have had a lot of birthdays this month! My husband's birthday was this last week as well. He turned 36. You shouldn't have to do dishes on your birthday, but I wasn't feeling very well that day. We did have a little party for the birthday boy though.

I was a little burned out on birthdays, so my hubby didn't get a cake (or pie which is the usual). I made chocolate chip cookies with toffee pieces instead.

I don't think the baby minded not having cake.

My hubby got a book, DVD, a coupon for a new treadmill (he says, "because he's fat"), and lots of cute cards and pictures from his girls.

Have a good year my love!

Happy Birthday Grandpa and Grandma....

My Grandpa's birthday was this last week. He turned 95! My Grandma's birthday is in a couple weeks and she will be turning 85. My family had a big party to celebrate.
Here are my grandparents and my grandpa's siblings and in-laws.

Aren't they cute?

Happy Birthday baby girl....

My baby turned one yesterday (WAAAHHHHH!!!). I am happy and sad all at the same time. She is such a fun baby. I just don't want her to grow up. The other day I was sorting through her clothing and pulling out the things that were too small. It made me so sad. She is at such an adorable stage right now. I would just like to freeze her here for another year or so. Here are some pictures we took in the morning (before she smeared cake through her hair!)

I must have taken 50 pictures. She was too busy inspecting the slide, the grass, the sky, the dirt, the sandbox, and anything else besides the camera. That is just how she is these days.....BUSY. She loves the cupboards. She is always in the pantry tearing things off the shelves. I made her up her own little bowl of goodies to play with in there (a spoon, canning lid, spices, egg seperator, etc.) That keeps her busy for a while, but then she is off to tear my blender and my Scentsy candle stuff out of their respective cupboards. I can't keep her out of them!

She learned how to walk the day after she turned 11 months. She is cruising all over the place these days. She is still a little tipsy, especially when she is tired. We went to a party for my grandparents yesterday and she slipped on the gym floor and crashed right on her nose. She gave herself quite the bloody nose. I took her into the bathroom to clean her up and 4 of my great aunts were in there. They gushed over how cute she was and I told them it was her birthday. They all spontaneously started singing her happy birthday right there in the bathroom. It was so sweet!

All of her busy-ness is not bad though. She has started to help clean.......here she is helping dust the railing.....

with her tongue!!!! She also has started taking care of our noses. She will hold a wet wipe up to her nose and blow, and then hold it up to yours to do the same. She isn't saying much these days, but she sure will let you know when she wants or especially when she doesn't want something by squaking! I am constantly telling her sisters to leave her alone because she is squaking at them.

We had a fun teddy bear birthday for her to celebrate her 1st birthday. Here is the cake I made.

H seemed to like it. She started attacking the frosting even before we could cut her a piece.

Yum yum yum!!!
She didn't quite know what to do with the presents. She was more interested in the video camera than any of her gifts.
Luckily she has plenty of sisters that were more than willing to help her figure out her new toys. I don't think H got to play with any of her new things today.

It was a fun day. I kept looking at her today and thinking, "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOUR'E ONE!!!" Before I know it she will be going to school. WAAAHHHH!

More birthday fun....

We were gone on M's birthday so we celebrated it yesterday. The poor girl didn't have a very good birthday anyway because she had the flu (Grandma and Grandpa B didn't have much fun either, since they were the lucky ones that got to clean up after her.....sorry!). She missed school on her birthday. She was disappointed that she didn't get to go and give her class her treats. She has the best teacher! She called on her birthday and had her class sing to her over the phone.

Yesterday for her birthday fun we went to Wal-Mart (I hear it is the party place..he he he). She wanted to get her ears pierced. We gave her the option of getting a new toy, or getting her ears pierced, and she chose the ears.

I think she was a little worried, because she didn't want to climb up onto the special seat where they do it. She picked out some adorable pink flower gem stone earrings. I don't know if you can see them too well in this picture. She is still a little shocked in this picture too.

She has been super good at taking care of them. She is so excited. She has even picked out the earrings that she wants to wear on Thanksgiving when she no longer has to wear her studs.

Afterwards, we took her to the toy department. Grandma and Grandpa R sent her some $$ to pick out something for herself. She got a horse for her Cinderella doll and a play make-up kit. She spent some time that afternoon making up herself and her sisters.

She had a fun time with it, until it was time to wash all of that glitter out of her eyelashes. I think she had a few stray sparkles when we went to church today.

When I was little we always got to pick out what meals we wanted on our birthday. It always made us feel special, so that is something I do with my kids now. M picked caramel apple crepes for breakfast (my small attempt at being IHOP), tomato soup for lunch, and taco salad for dinner. Here are her happy sisters waiting for the party to start.

In keeping with the clown theme from her birthday party, I made her a clown birthday cake.

Then she got to open her last remaining presents, including her new scriptures. She was so excited to take them to church today.

Happy Birthday M.....I still can't believe you are 8!!!!

Party Party Party

Little Miss M is going to have a birthday this Friday. She will be turning 8!!! We can hardly believe it. We threw her a party this last Friday. It was a clown party. Here are the cute invitations:

I painted all the girls faces and gave them clown noses. Here is M:

Here are all her friends that came to the party, and of course they had to make some funny faces:

We decorated clown hats for them to wear:
We played bean bag toss and ring toss. I was too busy keeping track of points to get a picture though.

And of course, we had to open some presents. M's favorite thing, is an adorable purse. It fits all of her presents in it and she has been packing it around the house non-stop since the party.

We also decorated cupcakes to look like clown faces. Check out the creativity!

I don't know what that one is....definately not a clown face, but fun and inventive non-the-less.

It was a fun party. I think M is really looking forward to her real birthday so she can open more presents!

Happy Birthday little K....

Today is my little K's birthday. She is 3 today. I wished her Happy Birthday this morning, and she asked me where her birthday was. I think she meant where her birthday PRESENTS were. I guess she is all about the gifts. I thought I would share some pics of her from the past year. She is such a fun little girl. She is so full of spunk and personality. Things are never dull when she is around. She is always surprising us with something new. She does a lot of stuff that her sisters never did. She comes up with the funniest ideas....she always makes us laugh. She is such a joy in our lives. Happy Birthday little K.
